Contact Systems Product History
1970 |
Contact Systems introduces the first vertical, open-frame, semi-automatic wire wrapping machine. Over the years many have tried to improve the elegantly simple design but none has succeeded. The CS-100 has proven to be the most imitated and popular wire wrapping machine on the market. |
1983 |
Contact Systems delivered the first CS-400A Cut & Clinch machine. |
1984 |
Contact Systems launches the ergonomically designed CS-400B Cut and Clinch machine with mechanically adjustable lead length and clinch angle. |
1985 |
Contact Systems introduces its first CS-302 series automatic Dip inserter. |
1988 |
Contact Systems introduces the CS-400C, through hole component cut & clinch insertion machine. The CS-400C provides a new cutter design with a miniature footprint. The 400C also included a built-in projection microscope and automatic skew correction. |
1989 |
Contact Systems enters the Surface Mount arena with its first machine the CS-500. |
1990 |
Contact Systems introduces the CS-400D. The 400D through hole component insertion machine is the first Contact machine to include our ultra clinch mechanism with an all new, re-designed cut and clinch mechanism. Also during 1990 Contact launches our optional component verifier. |
1992 |
Contact Systems introduces the CS-400E, through hole component insertion machine. The added color touch screen monitor provides the operator with ease of programming. The 400E today is still one of our top selling machines. |
1993 |
Contact Systems introduces the Contact 3, the first low cost machine Surface Mount placement machine that offered 100% vision centering. |
1995 |
Contact Systems introduces the CS-3S & CS-3AV, SMT machines . Both machines built on the 3 platform with the addition of backlighting and smart feeders. The 3-AV offered a closed loop high-speed DC servo drive positioning system which added extreme accuracy required for Ultra Fine Pitch placements. |
1997 |
Contact Systems releases the SMT Placement machines CS-3SX & CS-3AVX. The major differences between the previous two models was a re-design of the covers and CE compatible (European Safety Standards) |
1999 |
Contact Systems releases the SMT Placement Machine CS-3Z. The CS-3Z was the first machine in its class to offer use of linear motors on the “X” axis and AC servo on the “Y” axis. The Z also offered an independent servo driven “Z” axis. Both axes used non-contact linear encoders. |
2005 |
Contact Systems introduces our newest SMT platform. The C5 platform has been designed to provide our customers a single machine solution with the flexibility to place the entire range of component types and sizes |
2007 |
Contact Systems launches our advanced C5 Series Pick and Place line. The advanced line includes four models and 10 configurations to cover a vast range of SMT manufacturing requirements. All models are built on the same platform with rugged construction you have come to expect from our Contact Systems. |
